Newsweek: Philippines belongs to the World's Best Countries for Women

According to Newsweek Magazine, Philippines belongs to the best places for women in the world. The survey was done by the American publication showing the countries that the best for women.

The survey had five categories that affect women’s live namely justice and treatment of women under the law; access to health; access to education; economics and workforce participation; and political power. Newsweek used the data culled from UN and World Economic forum and experts and academics were consulted in measuring factors for the rankings.

The Philippines scored the following: justice, 88.4; health, 57.0; education, 92.2; economics, 89.1; and politics, 85.6; over-all: 86.3. The country that top the ranking, Iceland, got a perfect 100 over-all score.

Mayweather wins over Ortiz in 4th round KO

In just one round, Floyd Mayweather Jr got a head butt, a kiss and a hug from Victor Ortiz.

He responded with a right hand that ended a bizarre fight early.
Mayweather remained unbeaten and did it in emphatic fashion today, stopping Ortiz at 2:59 of the fourth round to take the piece of the welterweight title Ortiz brought into the ring.

The end came just as the two fighters emerged from a break, in which Ortiz had embraced Mayweather in the center of the ring. As they broke, Mayweather shot out a left hand and followed it with a right that put Ortiz down in his corner.
Ortiz struggled to get up as referee Joe Cortez called an end to the fight.

"We touched gloves and we were back to fighting and then I threw the left and right hand after the break," Mayweather said. "In the ring you have to protect yourself at all times."

The round was already controversial, as Ortiz appeared to head butt Mayweather intentionally, leading Cortez to take a point away from him. After the head butt, Ortiz went to Mayweather and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
Seconds later they were in the centre of the ring ready to resume action when two punches ended it quickly.

"I took the break by the referee and I obeyed exactly as I was told," Ortiz said. "And then, boom, he blindsided me."

Mayweather was winning the fight through three rounds, dominating with speed and landing good right hands to the head of Ortiz. He won all three rounds on two ringside scorecards, and two of three on the third.

Ortiz picked up the pace in the fourth round, trying desperately to get inside Mayweather's vaunted defense. He did on occasion and was having a better round when, late in the round, he appeared to intentionally head butt Mayweather in frustration as the two fought in Mayweather's corner.

"He did something dirty when it was his corner who said I was dirty," Mayweather said. "But I won the fight."

Mayweather later engaged in a verbal confrontation with HBO announcer Larry Merchant, calling him a name at one point and drawing a pointed response from the 80-year-old broadcaster, who said he would thrash the boxer if he "was 50 years younger".

While Ortiz claimed he was caught by a punch that came before Cortez ruled the fighters to continue, the referee said Mayweather did nothing wrong.
"Time was in, the fighter needed to keep his guard up. Mayweather did nothing illegal," Cortez said.

Mayweather, a 5-1 favorite in the fight against a champion 10 years younger, had vowed to go right after Ortiz and give the fans who bought the pay-per-view card at home an exciting fight. He mostly delivered on that promise, landing some good right hands in the early rounds and winning exchanges with his quickness.

Ringside punch stats reflected his dominance, showing Mayweather landing 73 of 208 punches to just 26 of 148 for Ortiz. Mayweather consistently beat Ortiz to the punch, and his experience and hand speed appeared to be the difference.

But he hadn't really hurt Ortiz and took some punches himself in the fourth round as Ortiz seemed to rally before the head butt touched off the series of events that brought the fight to an end. Ortiz quickly apologised to Mayweather after the head butt, giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek while Cortez was busy taking a point away from him.

There was another quick hug in the centre of the ring as action was about to resume, followed by the 1-2 combination by Mayweather that put Ortiz on his rear. Ortiz tried to get up, but was still on his knees when the fight was waved to a close.

"There's two ways to look at it but as far as I was concerned I came here to entertain the fans and I think they were entertained," Ortiz said. "There was a miscommunication with the referee but nobody is perfect and this was a learning experience."

Mayweather made a minimum of US$25 million for his first fight in 16 months, a sum that will likely go up as the pay-per-view receipts are totaled. He could make even more against Manny Pacquiao next May should Pacquiao win his November fight with Juan Manuel Marquez and the two finally agree to fight.
Mayweather remained unbeaten in 42 fights, scoring the knockout he had predicted. Ortiz, who lost his 147-pound title, fell to 29-3-2.

Titanic will be Re-released on April 2012

James Cameron, award-winning director of Titanic, during the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con announced that Titanic was in the process of being converted into 3D for theatrical re-released.

He estimated that conversion of Titanic movie would take six months to one year. He said that they have already tested it and had seen a couple of scenes converted. He also added that it really requires the filmmakers to be involved in the production to make sure that the Stereo Space decisions are made correctly.

Paramount Pictures confirmed in May 2011 that Titanic 3D will be re-released on the 100th anniversary year of the sailing of Titanic and of Paramount Pictures, which is April 6, 2012.

How To Play Tchoukball?

To play tchoukball these are the equipments needed: 2 tchoukball frames(see the photo below) and 1 tchoukball ball. For Field and Team: 2 Teams with 6-7 players, a 15 x 26 m field.

Basic Rules

3 Passes - The attacking teams is allowed a maximum of 3 passes to try to be in the best situation possible for shooting
Shot - At any time a player can decide to shoot at one of the frames (release the ball while in the air unless it will be called landing referee).
The other team tries to catch the ball - At this moment the defending team shall do its best to catch the ball bouncing from the frame before it catches the ground
- If the defending team does not catch the ball before it falls on the ground, one point is scored by the attacking team.
- If the defending team catches the ball before it falls on the ground, the game goes on and the defending team becomes the attacking team.

PBB Double UP Big Winner is Melissa!

After 19 weeks inside the Big Brother house, Melissa "Melai" Cantiveros from General Santos was announced as season three's Big Winner during the Big Date on the Big Night of Pinoy Big Brother Double Up held last night, February 13 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Melissa got the highest votes of 1,226,692 votes or 32.08% while Paul Jake from Cebu was the second Big placer with 1,044,295 votes or 27.3%. Jason from Mindoro got 954,961 votes or 24.9%, Johan got 303,751 votes or 7.94% and Tibo got the lowest votes with 294,161 or 7.69% proclaimed as third, fourth and fifth Big Placer respectively.

As the Big Winner, Melai won a cash prize of P1 million, a P2.5 million house and lot, and a 40-inch LCD TV screen. She will also get to travel with a companion in three key Asian destinations as well as become the owner of a water refilling station franchise. In addition, her chosen charity will be able to receive P1 million cash.

PBB Double Up: 12th Nomination Night Nominees

The first time it happened was during PBB’s first season. Of the five remaining housemates, only Uma Khouny was saved, leaving the other four a big chance at making the Big 4 – or not. History repeated itself, though not at such a critical time. For the second time in PBB history, the number of nominees exceeded that of the safe ones. Out of 9 remaining housemates, 5 of them were placed on the line.

Sam Pinto was the latest one out, ending her short stint inside Kuya’s house. With a few tears shed, Sam left the house with a smile with which she greeted the cheering crowd. Co-nominees Jason and Johan both expressed their gratefulness for another chance, and were fortunately spared a week of worry. Johan plans to use this to step up his game and vows to contribute more to the group’s tasks.

Contrary to the trend, Jason was finally able to evade the list of nominees. Instead, his sweetiepie Melai got in. With 6 points against her, Melai was seen to have a personality shift that had her slacking off and dictating on the others. Will Jason follow her lead and try to create more memories with her, in case she does get booted out? After all, Melai did spend time swimming with him and treating him to a full massage. Hermes got 5 points for flaunting cute moves, but not being able to express depth and substance. Tibo got an automatic 3 points from Jason, and two more from Melai for being a know-it-all made him a shoo-in. Mariel rounded up the list of nominees with her 4 points, given because some felt she lacked control, responsibility and finesse.

As if this was not enough, Big Utol launches another big surprise that is sure to up the challenge several notches. “Char Char Change” has the housemates thinking that the choice of who to get booted out no longer rests with the votes from the outside world. PBB fan dies while watching Melai-Echo date | Annina Ucatis enters the PBB house

An avid fan of hit reality show Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Double Up from Batangas has died because of heart attack last Friday, December 18 while watching the show. The episode featured Melisa Cantiveros or simply Melai dating young actor Jericho Rosales as a gift for her from the three kings.

Jennifer Perez, 21, was very excited watching the said episode, where Melai finally met Echo, when suddenly she felt pain on her chest. She was then quickly rush to the hospital where she expired.

Jennifer must be a big fan of Melai. Her excitment from the show triggered too much emotion that let her rest in peace :(

Meanwhile, another house guest from Big Brother Germany, Annina Ucatis aka "Super G" has finally arrived in PBB house to spice up the Xmas season of the housemates. Why super G? Well...she has, uhmmm..G cup size of boobs. hehe. She has undergone breast augmentations to get that big boobs.

Annina will be celebrating Christmas with the housemates.

Last Saturday, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Double UP announced the new set of nominees for eviction this coming Saturday. The nominees, who got highest points from their housemates, are Carol, Hermes, Patrick and first time nominee Sam. The voting scheme is indeed interesting since the voters/viewers have the power to EVICT and to SAVE nominees (SE Voting). Watch out for the upcoming fantasy 3D film of Tim Burton in 2010, The Alice in the Wonderland starring Johhny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as The White Queen and Mia Wasikowska as Alice. This film is an adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novels Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. The film will use a technique combining live action, motion capture technology, and stop motion.

Here's the plot of the story:

Alice (Mia Wasikowska), now 19 years old, attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. She runs off, following the White Rabbit (Michael Sheen) into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited in a similar manner 10 years before, yet doesn't remember. Wonderland was a peaceful kingdom until the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) overthrew her sister, the White Queen (Anne Hathaway). The creatures of Wonderland, such as the Cheshire Cat (Stephen Fry), Tweedledee and Tweedledum (Matt Lucas) and the March Hare (Noah Taylor), ready to revolt, wait for Alice to help them. With the help of the White Queen, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and the Caterpillar (Alan Rickman), Alice starts seeing flashbacks of her original visit, back when she was nine.

C Program: Random Number Generator

Hello everyone, I would just like to share to you the codes of one of our assignments in our Programming class last semester, academic year 08-09 in UIC. This is about generating random number in C. This is one of the few topics that I love in C programming.

So here's the problem to program:

Create a C program that plays the game "guess the number" as follows: Your program chooses the number to be guessed by selecting an integer at random from 1 to 1000. If the player's guess is incorrect, your program should loop until the player finally gets the number right. Your program should keep telling Too high or Too low to help the player "zero in" on the correct answer. (problem is taken from C: How to Program, 4th Edition, Deitel&Deitel).

The codes are simple as follows: I used time.h header file to manipulate or randomized the order of the numbers. Stdlib.h for the process control, other header files, stdio.h and conio.h (for getch), are necessary to run the program.

Friendster is looking for a new owner

On the documents obtained by TechCrunch, Friendster, the leading and considered as the top social networking site in the Philippines and some parts in Asia, is looking for a new owner.

An article by Robin Wauters on TechCruch said Friendster has hired investment bank Morgan Stanley to find a party interested in acquiring the company. The documents revealed that the company is looking for a buyer who wants to gain quick access to the Asian social networking scene, especially since 75 percent of Friendster's registered accounts are in Asia.

The TechCrunch report estimated Friendster's value at $210 million, based on Facebook's recent valuation of $10 billion.

It noted, however, that comScore numbers for Friendster in May 2009 dropped 45 percent compared to the same period last year.

Russian Navy Revealed UFO encounters

Do you believe in Aliens and UFO's or the unidentified flying objects? I'm sure some of us do, like Russian Navy. Who might think that they believe in such things like UFO's. In a report of one of news English-language website in Russia, Russia Navy has revealed its records of UFO experiences, many take place in or around water.

"They are most often seen in the deepest part of the Atlantic Ocean, in the southern part of the Bermuda Triangle, and also in the Caribbean Sea," said one naval intelligence officer quoted by the Web site.

Another incident cited involved six unknown objects that followed a nuclear submarine in the Pacific. When the sub surfaced, so did the objects — which then lifted themselves out of the water and flew away.

In perhaps the most compelling account, military divers in Siberia's Lake Baikal, the world's deepest lake, encountered "a group of humanoid creatures dressed in silvery suits" at a depth of 160 feet. Three humans died during the ensuing chase.

Bang Showbiz - Katy Perry's sexy stage outfits were stolen by her support act.

The singer was left fuming when American boyband 3oh!3 - made up of friends Sean Foreman and Nathanial Motte - raided her dressing room when they toured together.

Foreman told BANG Showbiz: "We shared a dressing room and would often sniff around there a bit. On the last day we raided it and stole this little sexy leotard thing she wears for her last number. We danced around in them on stage while she was doing her thing. I don't think she was too happy about it but it was definitely fun for us."

The band also revealed they are planning to work with super producer Mark Ronson.

Motte explained: "We have met up with him a couple of times and had some great talks, so hopefully when we get off our busy tour schedule we will be able to work together. He has a magic touch when it comes to making music."

The group - who are performing at the Reading and Leeds festivals in the UK next month - are currently in London promoting new single "Don't Trust Me."

Michael Jackson maybe dead but he is still rich, that's why his family is locked in a stubborn battle over what to do with his remains.

Not to mention, MJ died with a debt estimated at around $400 million. Jacko had private planes, zoo animals, fantasy rides, antiques, 75 automobiles (wow!), hotels and personal staff to support his lifestyle. That's really plenty to live forever without having problem at all.lol

If you think he only owned the Neverland, never underestimate the King of Pop for he also owned three more properties in California ALONE. And it seems his trustees now have their work cut out piecing together all his funds -- at the time MJ had 16 checking accounts and 5 savings accounts with numerous different Californian banks.

In spite MJ's lavish lifestyle, he never forgot to support charity organizations either monetary donations through sponsorships of their projects or by participating in their fund raising efforts. Jackson's official death certificate, which was released during the memorial on Tuesday, did not list a cause of death. The official determination will likely wait until toxicology results are completed, which could be weeks away.

But the certificate did reveal a crucial detail, further clouding the mystery surrounding the location of Jackson’s body: Forest Lawn was only a temporary resting place.

Los Angeles officer April Harding said Tuesday that Jackson’s body would not be returning to Forest Lawn, but there was no indication of where his coffin was taken following its removal from the Staples Center

According to a report in the U.K. Sun, the body was transported to a secret location, and did not go with the family’s motorcade, which stopped briefly at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for a post-service lunch.

Others think the body may have already been buried, the Sun reported, and that the casket that took center-stage at the ceremony was in fact an empty prop.

Still, in all likelihood, Jackson has yet to be buried, especially in light of the fact that the pop superstar's brain is still being held for examination and that the cause of his death has yet to be determined.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the Associated Press that Jackson's brain, or at least part of it, was still being held by investigators and would be returned to the family for interment once neuropathology tests were completed.

"As soon as we are done with the brain, we will return it," Winter said. "There is a whole series of tests that will be done."

In order to be examined thoroughly, the brain tissue needs time for sufficient hardening.

It is not uncommon for the coroner to hold on to a brain or samples from it. Winter said families sometimes delay burying a loved one until after the brain has been returned, but he had received no word from the Jackson family about their intentions.

"The last I heard, they are not burying the body yet," Winter said.

There was some indication that the family was interested in burying the singer at his Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara, a move that would require special permission in accordance with state laws. Initially, the family moved to have a funeral at Neverland, but they were not able to obtain a residential exemption required for burial on private property. Colony Capital, the investment company that purchased Neverland in May of 2008, told People magazine on July 1 that the family was not able to get the exemption in time for the memorial.

Still, that does not rule out the possibility of cremation and the scattering of his ashes at Neverland, although that process is also subject to California laws.

Two brothers sued after uploading Hayden Kho s3x scandals

Authorities have filed charges on Monday against two brothers namely Joebert and Marvin Lazarte for uploading the s3x videos of Dr. Hayden Kho, Jr. on their porn site fleshdailyasia.com. The two brothers were charged with violating Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code or the Immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions, and indecent shows.

According to the news, the charges were filed before the Cavite Provincial Prosecutor's Office while the two were arrested last Friday at their home. NBI also confiscated the hard drive and laptop of Lazarte brothers during the raid.

Meanwhile, Lazarte brothers cleared that their website is not a porn site but only a “hobby site”. They also said that they only uploaded the “Careless Whisper” video showing Hayden and Katrina Halili dancing in their underwear.

Initial investigation by the NBI Anti-Fraud and Computer Crimes Division showed that the Lazartes received the video via e-mail from a person identified as "dance commander”.

Officials said the Lazartes must have known the source of the sex videos since they were the first to get a copy of the material before any other website. - ABS-CBN

The same day that Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died, Internet rumors were flying that Jeff Goldblum fell to his death during an on-set accident in New Zealand (the same rumor had been spread about Tom Hanks in 2006 and Tom Cruise in 2008) and that Harrison Ford was lost at sea when his yacht capsized.

Luckily, none of these reports proved to be true.

Over the weekend, somebody hacked into Britney's Twitter account and posted this message, "Britney has passed today. It is a sad day for everyone. More news to come."

The news is this: not only is Britney alive, so are Ellen DeGeneres and P. Diddy (whose accounts were also hacked), as well as George Clooney and Rick Astley.

Here are some of the most legendary stories of other celebrities who've lived through rumors of their untimely demise.

Oprah Winfrey: R.I.P. Hoax 2009. In 2009 it was reported that talk show queen Oprah Winfrey was found sprawled across her bed, dead in her Chicago apartment. Oprah was, of course, alive and kicking. The groups Anonymous and 4chan allegedly started the hoax, but L.A. comedy troupe Team Tiger Awesome is running with the notion. They have an upcoming show on Comedy Central called "Oprah Is Dead," which looks at the bleak landscape of a post-Oprah-lypitc world.

Miley Cyrus: R.I.P. Hoax 2008. False reports surfaced on the Internet on September 6, 2008, that Miley Cyrus had died in a hit-and- run accident on her way to the "Hannah Montana" set. Luckily for tween pop fans everywhere, the story was bogus. Miley isn't the first star to be the subject of the fatal-car-accident rumor. Others include Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears (who allegedly died together in a crash in 2001), Eminem (who supposedly left us in 2000), Scott Baio (whose accident was purportedly the same day as Chris Farley's actual death in 1997), and "Saved by the Bell's" Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Mario Lopez (whose fake collision was reported in 1993).

Sinbad: R.I.P. Hoax 2007. The beauty of Wikipedia is that anyone can go on and post information, keeping the on-line encyclopedia current. The downfall of Wikipedia is that ANYONE can go on and post information, pretty much ensuring that misinformation is common. Such was the case on March 14, 2007, when the very-much-alive comedian Sinbad was reported dead of a heart attack. Despite a flood of condolence phone calls and e-mails, Sinbad laughed off the incident in an AP interview saying, "Saturday I rose from the dead and then died again."

Paris Hilton: R.I.P. Hoax 2007. Whoever wanted people to think Paris Hilton was dead in 2007 REALLY wanted people to think she was dead. They went to the trouble of creating a bogus news story that looked like an official CNN.com page. Disconcerted by the fact that Paris' DUI prison sentence was front-page news, MyCoalProductions.com creator Michael Burke posted the fake story that Hilton had been stabbed multiple times by a angry fellow inmate. What a jokester.

Will Ferrell: R.I.P. Hoax 2006. On March 14, 2006, an anonymous i-Newswire user posted a phony story that Will Ferrell died in a paragliding accident when an unexpected 60-mile-an-hour wind kicked up, threw the comic actor off course, and sent him into a dense forest along with his instructor. The story was so detailed, it included his professional guide's name (Horarcio Gomez), the hospital they were taken to (UCSD Thornton), and a quote from Will's parents, who said he died doing "one of the things he loved the most."

Dave Grohl: R.I.P. Hoax 2006. Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl has been the victim of a couple of Internet death hoaxes. In 2006 conspiracy theories were already surfacing about the cause of his demise, before Grohl had a chance to come forward and announce he was still very much alive. As always, Dave maintained his sense of humor, stating in an NME magazine cover story, "I'm like a cockroach - don't worry, I'll be around for a long time."

William Hung: R.I.P. Hoax 2004. Could anybody really believe that the innocently naive "American Idol" reject William Hung was a secret heroin addict? Apparently lots of people bought the notion that the "She Bangs"-botcher had a dark side and the story that he was found post-overdose by a VH1 "Behind the Music" camera crew. Satirical site Broken Newz fabricated the tale. No word on whether or not Hung (who had become the butt of everyone's jokes at the time) found it funny.

Johnny Knoxville: R.I.P. Hoax 2002. It seemed like only a matter of time before "Jackass" daredevil Johnny Knoxville would fall victim to a Web death rumor. But when it came, the details of his supposed demise were bizarrely believable given the nature of the jester's unorthodox stunts. The story went that Johnny died when his parachute failed to open while he was skydiving from a biplane... and eating from a giant jar of baked beans. You gotta admit, if anyone was going to go that way, it would be Johnny.

Lou Reed: R.I.P. Hoax 2001. Anybody gullible enough to believe that Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed had died of a drug overdose in 2001 is probably still be sitting around waiting for the release of the album he was allegedly recording at the time, "Angels Fly Far from Heaven Here." Good news, bad news for Reed fans – Lou's alive, but no such record was ever recorded.

James Earl Jones: R.I.P. Hoax 1998. Fact-checking can be a matter of life and death. Such was the case for James Earl Jones in 1998, when Pittsburgh Pirates announcer Lanny Frattare accidentally said the voice behind Darth Vader had died, when, in fact, it was Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassin, James Earl Ray, who'd passed away.

Abe Vigoda: R.I.P. Hoax 1982. Doesn't it seem like Abe Vigoda has been 90 for like 50 years? In fact, the actor was just 54-years-old when he played Fish on "Barney Miller." Still, it wasn't entirely unexpected when People magazine reported in 1982 that Abe was dead. Only problem, he wasn't. So Vigoda decided to make a joke out of the whole mess and posed in a coffin, clutching the magazine that professed his demise. All seemed OK until 1987, when a New Jersey anchorwoman referred to the "late Abe Vigoda" on the nightly news. Oops... still breathing. Since then lots has been made of the fact that Abe is still alive. He's joked about it with David Letterman and Conan O'Brien. Singer-songwriter Greg Galcik recorded the tribute "Abe Vigoda's Dead." And the Website abevigoda.com keeps a 24-hour clock tracking the actor's status. And in case you're wondering – as of right this very second, Abe is doing just fine.

Alice Cooper: R.I.P. Hoax 1973. The Alice Cooper death rumors started to run rampant when Melody Maker magazine printed a fake obituary saying the shock rocker had met his untimely demise. Then came the speculation – was the Billion Dollar Baby the victim of a fatal car accident or had his famous onstage guillotine stunt gone completely wrong? Cooper stepped forward to calm his grieving fans, saying, "I'm alive, and drunk as usual."

Jerry Mathers: R.I.P. Hoax 1969. Devotees of all things wholesome must have been devastated when they heard that Jerry Mathers had died in combat during the Vietnam War. The legend began that a Private J. Mathers was allegedly killed in action. The "Leave It to Beaver" star had tried to enroll in the Marines but was turned down (reportedly because they didn't want to risk the negative publicity that would surround the death of such a famous person). But he did join the Air Force Reserve, where he served in the States and appeared in uniform on the 1967 Emmy Awards, an image that undoubtedly fueled the rumors when they began to spread.

Paul McCartney: R.I.P. Hoax 1966. The most famous celebrity death hoax of all time is that the Beatles' Paul McCartney died in a car accident in 1966 and was replaced by a look-alike. Although the story originated in the Drake University paper in September 1969, it spread across the globe following a Michigan radio show broadcast just a few weeks later. 1. Free up disk space

By freeing disk space, you can improve the performance of your computer. The Disk Cleanup tool helps you free up space on your hard disk. The utility identifies files that you can safely delete, and then enables you to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the identified files.

Use Disk Cleanup to:

Remove temporary Internet files.
Remove downloaded program files (such as Microsoft ActiveX controls and Java applets).
Empty the Recycle Bin.
Remove Windows temporary files.
Remove optional Windows components that you don't use.
Remove installed programs that you no longer use.

Tip: Typically, temporary Internet files take the most amount of space because the browser caches each page you visit for faster access later.

To use Disk Cleanup

Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup. If several drives are available, you might be prompted to specify which drive you want to clean.
In the Disk Cleanup for dialog box, scroll through the content of the Files to delete list.
Clear the check boxes for files that you don't want to delete, and then click OK.
When prompted to confirm that you want to delete the specified files, click Yes.

After a few minutes, the process completes and the Disk Cleanup dialog box closes, leaving your computer cleaner and performing better.

2. Speed up access to data

Disk fragmentation slows the overall performance of your system. When files are fragmented, the computer must search the hard disk when the file is opened to piece it back together. The response time can be significantly longer.

Disk Defragmenter is a Windows utility that consolidates fragmented files and folders on your computer's hard disk so that each occupies a single space on the disk. With your files stored neatly end-to-end, without fragmentation, reading and writing to the disk speeds up.

When to run Disk Defragmenter

In addition to running Disk Defragmenter at regular intervals—monthly is optimal—there are other times you should run it too, such as when:

You add a large number of files.
Your free disk space totals 15 percent or less.
You install new programs or a new version of Windows.

To use Disk Defragmenter:

Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Defragmenter.
In the Disk Defragmenter dialog box, click the drives that you want to defragment, and then click the Analyze button. After the disk is analyzed, a dialog box appears, letting you know whether you should defragment the analyzed drives. Tip: You should analyze a volume before defragmenting it to get an estimate of how long the defragmentation process will take.

3. Detect and repair disk errors

In addition to running Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter to optimize the performance of your computer, you can check the integrity of the files stored on your hard disk by running the Error Checking utility.

As you use your hard drive, it can develop bad sectors. Bad sectors slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing (such as file saving) difficult, or even impossible. The Error Checking utility scans the hard drive for bad sectors, and scans for file system errors to see whether certain files or folders are misplaced.

If you use your computer daily, you should run this utility once a week to help prevent data loss.

To run the Error Checking utility:

Close all open files.
Click Start, and then click My Computer.
In the My Computer window, right-click the hard disk you want to search for bad sectors, and then click Properties.
In the Properties dialog box, click the Tools tab.
Click the Check Now button.
In the Check Disk dialog box, select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box, and then click Start.
If bad sectors are found, choose to fix them.

4. Protect your computer against spyware

Spyware collects personal information without letting you know and without asking for permission. From the Web sites you visit to usernames and passwords, spyware can put you and your confidential information at risk. This autopsy report would clear out everything about the real cause of death of King of Pop. There has been speculation that drugs may have played a role on MJ's death, that he was given a "heavy dose of morphine" before his death. Jackson’s lawyer reportedly said that “The King” had watched her during her guestings on Oprah.

Jackson picked Charice after watching a YouTube footage of her singing “Billie Jean” while doing the “moonwalk”.

“Right away, sabi niya, ‘I want this kid!’” said Charice.

Jackson was reportedly planning to do a Billie Jean duet with Charice while they do a dance showdown.

Michael Jackson dies at 50

This is really sad news to everyone, the legendary King of Pop Michael Jackson, one of the most influential figures in pop history whose career included the highest-selling album of all-time, "Thriller", died Thursday afternoon (US Time) at the age of 50 at Los Angeles Hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Music icon Michael Jackson, whose fame spanned from his childhood with the legendary Jackson 5 to a superstar solo career that earned him the nickname 'King of Pop,' died Thursday afternoon at a Los Angeles hospital. He was 50.

His brother Jermaine Jackson confirmed Jackson's death from suspected cardiac arrest at a press conference Thursday evening.

Jermaine Jackson said his brother's physician was with him at his home at the time of his suspected cardiac arrest, and both the physician and the paramedics who transported to the UCLA Medical Center attempted to resuscitate him.

"Upon arriving at the hospital at approximately 1:14 p.m. a team of doctors, including emergency physicians and cardiologists, attempted to resuscitate him for a period of more than one hour, but they were unsuccessful," he said.

Jackson was pronounced dead at at 2:26 p.m. PDT, his brother said.

"My family request that the media please respect our privacy during this time, and may all love be with you Michael, always. We love you."

The L.A. County Coroner's Office has taken possession of Jackson's body and an autopsy is expected Friday.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Lt. Greg Strenk said the department's robbery-homicide department was investigating Jackson's death because of the high-profile nature of the pop star.

Multiple reports said he had gone into cardiac arrest, though the official cause of death wasn't immediately known. A news conference is expected later Thursday at the hospital, where fans have gathered to pay tribute to the singer.

Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

May Bukas Pa is extended 'til January 2010

ABS-CBN's inspirational TV series May Bukas Pa, topbilled by Zaijian Jaranilla played as Santino the miracle boy, is extended until January 2010 due to its high ratings in primetime slot.

Supposedly, the show will air until the end of June or first week of July after its initial 20 weeks extension last February. However, due to its ratings success, after the Thanksgiving Mass attended by some of the bosses of ABS-CBN and all artist and crew of the show last Monday, Cory Vidanes (station's television head) announced that the airing of the show will be extended until January next year.

May Bukas Pa fans should say, "Thanks Bro!" for this good news.

Santino truly captured the heart of many viewers from its pilot episode (Feb 2) up until now as it remains on the top of ratings game when it comes to national TV ratings survey conducted by Taylor Nelson Sofres Survey (TNS).

Yes! You heard it right, this is one of the nine original signed prints of Einstein. It has been sold by a New Hampshire auction house for $74,324. David Waxman of Great Neck, N.Y., is the new owner. He is a specialist in important scientific books and autographs.

This photo was taken in 1951 after Einstein's 72nd celebration.

This November, prepare for our final existent because the end of the world is coming! As Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures will bring the ancient Mayan's prediction on the “December 12, 2012 Dooms day” or the 12-12-12 event to our silver screen.

2012 movie may be similar to 2004 disaster movie- The Day After Tomorrow,which deals with sudden global cooling but 2012 is scarier since it focus on how ocean pollution, carbon saturation, and deforestation are part a prophecy of the massive destruction of our planet.

I've seen the trailer and I think it's a worth watching movie. I will surely bring my friends to watch it!

2012 will be released worldwide on November 13, 2009.
